Argonne – Borrieswalde

The Borrieswalde lager was situated close to the Apremont waldfriedhof which still exists today.
The lager was quite large and had many facilities.
It was destroyed during the American offensive at the end of September and beginning of October 1918. Today the terraces are still clearly visible and here and there traces of life in the camp can still be found.
A few years ago French archeologists researched the former lager. The results of this can be seen on the French website for the centenary of World War I. See the news section for links to the articles.
