This website is a photographic journey along relics of World War I which can still be found on the Western Front today. Relics like trenches, bunkers, shellholes, monuments made during the war, camps, watertowers, (former) cemeteries, murals etc. In short: traces left behind by the men who fought and died during World War I.
Most of the relics on this website are from the Argonne, St. Mihiel and Vosges regions as those are the regions I mostly visit, although in future I intend to visit Belgium, the Somme and other regions more frequently.
Each photo page will be supplemented with postcards send by soldiers during the war, to give an idea of what life was like almost a hundred years ago.
